What now unfolds in Iran under the rule of the Islamic Republic goes beyond the bloody suppression of the brave struggles of the Iranian masses. It amounts to a general massacre. What is happening is the mass killing of people who rose up to demand life, livelihoods, work, bread, freedom, and their political and social rights. It is the slaughter of women, youth, children, and fighting masses who took to the streets to secure the minimum conditions of a humane life and, on a broader scale, to overthrow the Islamic Republic. The Islamic Republic, unable to meet even the most basic political, economic, and social demands of the exhausted people of Iran, responds each time with killing. It drowns their rightful struggles in blood. It rakes massive street demonstrations of women, men, children, and working people with gunfire from machine guns, Kalashnikovs, DShK heavy machine guns, and automatic weapons.
The struggle now unfolding between the masses and the reactionary forces ruling Iran is a fight for freedom and revolution. It is a struggle for liberation from oppression and repression. What the killers of the Islamic Republic inflicted on the uprising people of Iran on the 7th and 8th of January 2026 goes far beyond all previous repression and massacres carried out by the Islamic rulers over the past forty seven years. So far, HRANA and other human rights organizations have reported between five thousand and more than twenty thousand killed. The number of wounded remains extremely high. Khamenei’s mercenaries executed many of these wounded people during arrest, transfer to medical centers, and even on hospital beds. The number of detainees has increased to several tens of thousands, detainees whose lives are now in danger.

The Islamic Republic, wounded by the courageous struggles of the Iranian masses, now stands at its weakest political, economic, and social point. Amid a series of internal unrest and turmoil, deep and incurable structural crises, and all-out pressure from international institutions, the regime’s sham courts have apparently halted or postponed the execution of recently arrested detainees. This appearance, however, hides the truth. Reports from inside Iran indicate that, on the orders of Khamenei and Mohseni Ejei, the killing machinery of the Islamic Republic has made the secret execution of detainees official state policy. Several families report that over recent days they searched everywhere for their loved ones and found no trace of them among the dead. After several days passed, they discovered the bodies of their children among the corpses. Other reports from eyewitnesses and hospital doctors indicate that some detainees or wounded individuals abducted from hospitals, many without severe injuries, have now appeared among the dead. Taken together, reports from inside Iran show that the sham courts of the Islamic Republic have secretly executed detainees and wounded people and, by exploiting the chaos gripping society, placed their bodies among those killed in the streets.
The Cooperation Council of the Iranian Left and Communist Forces, while expressing solidarity with the families of the recent victims and its deep outrage at the criminal actions of the Islamic Republic, calls on all families, all informed individuals, political activists, and human rights organizations to urgently announce the names of all detainees and missing persons who have not yet been found among the recent dead as detainees of the latest uprising. Only through broad public awareness, naming detainees in domestic and international forums, and urgently reporting the regime’s secret executions to human rights bodies can such criminal actions by the Islamic Republic be prevented as much as possible.
