About Us

The "Cooperation Council of Left and Communist Forces" was established in September 2018 after a series of various discussions. This was  in response to the needs of the revolutionary communist and labour movement, and based on the "Stockholm Conference Declaration" under the title "A socialist alternative is necessary and possible!" and have begun to work together.

The "Cooperation Council" has advanced and gradually expanded its activities based on the theoretical commonalities of these forces and the agreement on the council's resolutions, and by learning from previous experiences of cooperation between left and communist forces.

The "Cooperation Council" as a political bloc has tried to reduce the dispersion between left and communist forces through regular meetings of its internal institutions consisting of representatives of the forces and annual face-to-face meetings.  We have also sought to help strengthen the "socialist discourse" in Iranian social movements by taking joint political positions on current political issues and the strategic horizons of society.

The "Cooperation Council" has been able to provide camaraderie and convergence among a section of socialists to a certain extent in the light of joint work and political activity and has tried to be a model for greater convergence in the left camp of society.

The "Cooperation Council" has advanced its activities by issuing joint announcements and tracts, joint television programs under the title of "Cooperation Alternative", activity in platforms and social networks, holding public and internal seminars for the council forces and joint field activities and actions in places where the council forces are present.

At the time of formation, the forces comprising this cooperation project were: "Communist Party of Iran", "Labor Communist Party-Hekmatist", "Worker's Path Organization", "Devotees Organization-Minority", "Minority Core" and "Union of Communist Devotees". Since then there has been some changes that the "Union of Communist Devotees" left the Corporation and the "Socialist Workers' Union" joined us.

We believe that despite the efforts and sense of responsibility of the forces of this council and the positive activities that have been carried out in the past few years, we are still far from playing a more effective role in responding to the needs of political and class movements in society. Therefore, the quantitative and qualitative expansion of the "Cooperation Council" is one of our top priorities.
